Lots Of Catching Up To Do!

It has been a while since we last checked in, so I apologize to everyone out there. We have had a lot going on so I haven't had time to post a blog. I have a lot of things to catch everyone up on, so I better get started. First off I want to say that Noah and I are so happy that Curtis is home with us again:) His homecoming didn't happen the way I wanted it to, but I was still very excited to see him! I wanted Noah to be with me when I went to pick him up at the airport on Saturday afternoon, but he couldn't go because he had a rough night Friday night. I do wish I would've had the video camera when Noah woke up from his afternoon nap and saw his daddy for the first time in 2 weeks, because it was so adorable it brought a tear to my eyes! He just dove into Curtis' arms!

We had a fun packed weekend, but it was rough at times. When I said Noah had a rough night Friday night it's because he woke up running a temperature of 102.3! It scared me to death! I gave him some Walgreen's brand Motrin and it thankfully broke it within 30 minutes. He had started running a fever of 100 on Thursday night which started getting me concerned. Noah just didn't act himself and you could tell by looking at him that he didn't feel good. Friday I called and got him a Doctor Appointment to see what was going on with him. They ran blood work (it came back very good), and checked his ears (they looked great). Dr. Lyon's couldn't figure out what was going on, but she agreed with me that he didn't feel good because he cried the entire time during the visit and that's just not like Noah. She ended up telling me to just monitor him and that she thought it was some type of viral infection. She said she thought it could be Roseola so if he started breaking out in a rash not to get concerned.

Noah's fever broke Saturday and never came back! He still didn't act like he felt good, but he was starting to eat better and play more a little each day. Monday afternoon I noticed while I was changing his diaper that he had a rash all over his stomach, chest, and back. It turns out that the Doctor was right (she's great by the way!) and he did get Roseola! One of the symptoms of this viral infection is that they can run a very high fever for up to 3 days before they break out in the rash, and that's exactly what happened to Noah.

Noah is not contagious with this rash, so he has been going to daycare as normal. He was only contagious while he was running the fever which was Thursday and Friday. I'm glad to report that he is doing much better now! He still has a little of the rash, but it's almost completely gone:) He was more like our little Noah today, and wasn't irritable at all:) We are just thankful he is doing much better now. I hope you all understand now why I was a little too busy to post a blog.

Did I say we are very excited that Curtis is home? Welcome home baby!! We love you so much:) Just look at these pics from this evening in our back yard and you can tell Noah missed his daddy!

Counting Down!

Here at the Moss house, we are counting down the days until Curtis comes back home to us! 3 more days and we will be together once again for 1 week before he goes away for another 2 weeks. I get sad when I think about it, but at the same time I'm counting my blessings that he gets to come home and be with us for a week in between! Noah can't wait until his daddy is back home to play with him. Every night before I give Noah a bath we all go up in Noah's room and play blocks with him as a family when Curtis is home with us. It's one of my favorite times of the day because we are all doing something together and having fun! Noah absolutely loves destroying everything his daddy and I build for him:)

We would like to send a special thank you to Noah's Nana and Pop tonight. I received the package tonight that you sent to us, and it was very nice of you to think of us enough to send us gifts! Noah smiled when he saw his new outfit with the bicycle on it:) That is going to be the outfit he wears to go pick up his daddy at the airport on Saturday:) I also loved the card you sent us for our anniversary. Thank you so much!

Checking In

We are checking in tonight to say hello to everyone out there that has survived another day of this crazy heat! I took this picture of Noah when we got back from our nightly walk. I have to admit that these walks are getting harder each night because of this awful heat, but we aren't quiting! We have been walking everynight for the past month, and we really enjoy it. I also think it's a good learning experience for Noah, because we like to name different things as we pass them. He is learning to point at certain things such as the dogs or birds when I ask him where they are:) Our walks will be complete again once daddy is home to go on them with us, but mamaw has been walking with us the last couple of weeks, and Noah enjoys that also.

Curtis, I hope you enjoy these pictures that I took for you to see our growing boy! Just think you will be able to hug, kiss and squeeze him again this Saturday!! We can't wait to pick you up at the airport! I think Noah would be more excited if you were traveling on a train since he loves to watch them go by our house, but he will settle for a big airplane:) The picture where he is looking out our deck door is him looking over at the train going by! Whenever he hears the train blow it's horn, he runs over to the door to watch it.

We hope everyone has a great Wednesday!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the wonderful daddies out there in the world today! We hope that you all are enjoying your special day. Even though Noah's daddy isn't here with us on this Father's Day, we still thought about him all day and hope that he still enjoyed his day. We just hope that maybe he can be home next year on his special day with us.

Noah gave Curtis his Father's Day gift before he left on his 2 weeks, but today he asked me if he could give his daddy 1 more gift. He wanted me to take his picture tonight after he got a bath just so his daddy could see him on Father's Day. He even gave a cute little smile for his daddy in the first one (I know it's blurry, and I apologize for that). He loves his daddy so much, and misses him more than I could even attempt to explain, so you will just have to trust me on this one:)

The two other daddies in our life is Harold (my dad) and Rob, Curtis' dad. I am very blessed to have such great men in my life! They love our family a great deal, and both of them would do anything for us, so we are very thankful. Rob is such a great dad that he has raised a son (my husband) that makes a better dad than I ever would've imagined. As for my dad.. well all I can say is that I would never change anything about him. He has spent his entire life doing everything he can for me, and I only hope that I can be half the parent he has been to me!

Happy Father's Day!!

5 Years and Counting...

If your planning on seeing pics of Noah tonight on the blog, you aren't going to see them. Today is our 5th wedding anniversary, so I decided to write a letter to Curtis as the blog post for today since he is still in Fort Riley, Kansas. You all can check back soon and I'll try to post some more pictures of the little guy soon, I promise:) Now, onto the blog for today.

Dear Curtis,
Happy 5th Anniversary! I can't believe that 5 years have passed since the day I vowed to spend the rest of my life loving and caring for you. These have truly been the Best 5 years of my life so far:)
I hate that we aren't able to spend this special day together, and that you're so many miles away from me. At the same time, I understand that this is one of the many things that come along with being an Army Wife. I have to admit that it has taken some getting used to, a lot of praying, having arguments, tears, and joys. I am just now starting to get the hang of it just a little, but I'm thankful you have been patient with me:) I've learned throughout the past 5 years with your Military career to just count my Blessings everyday that you are still home with us safe and sound! God Bless all the Military Soldiers and their families that fight for our Country!!
In the past 5 years you have blessed me by being a Great Husband, and now a Wonderful Father to our son. I know our marriage isn't perfect, but everyday I feel that our love grows stronger! I love you now more than I did on June 18, 2005, and I didn't think that would ever be possible.God truly has blessed me by bringing you into my life:) You have given me more love in my life than I would've ever imagined, and on top of that, you blessed me with Noah. Life doesn't get any better than this in my eyes:)
Thank you for the lovely jewelry box and the beautiful flowers! Even though you know what you're getting, I have posted a picture so that you can see what it looks like. I miss you, and I love you with all my heart & more!

Your Very Proud Wife!
Jennifer

One Proud Mommy!

I know everyone is probably wondering why I took a picture of food to post on the blog, aren't you? The reason is because this is what Noah had for dinner tonight, and he ate almost the entire plate full of food! I'm so proud of him that he is eating his vegetables so good that I had to post a blog about it. Some people may be thinking "Yuck" when they look at all those green vegetables, but as a mommy I am saying "Yeah"!! I don't know how long it will last that Noah eats all his vegetables so well, so I'm enjoying every second of it. We are big vegetable eaters here in the Moss house, so I pray that Noah continues to like them so well:)

Now on to the good stuff... pictures of my sweet son:) We are still missing Curtis like crazy(it's only been 3 days, but feels like at least a week), and Noah looks for him everyday we come home. I almost didn't post a blog tonight, but I know Curtis will be checking in, and that he will want to see some new pictures of Noah. I can't imagine how hard it is to be away from this sweet face for 2 weeks, so I'm trying to post more blogs to help ease the pain a little. We love you babe!!

We hope everyone has a good night and great Thursday! (I know his leg looks like it's twisted in the picture, but I promise it wasn't. His shorts got twisted so that is why it looks so weird.)

Missing You!

Look at this adorable little face! I asked him if he was missing his daddy, and this is the look I got. Yep, you guessed it... Curtis left Sunday to go to Fort Riley, KS. for 2 whole weeks!! The look Noah is giving me in this picture is the mommy do you even have to ask me that question look:) We are already missing Curtis so much that it's crazy.

Thankfully once again my mom has come to stay with us while Curtis is away. This is a HUGE help to me and we are very thankful for her. It was a very big help last night during all the crazy storms we had here! Noah actually slept through the majority of the storms (I don't know how), but when he did wake up he was scared. He didn't cry once I picked him up, but he was confused at what was going on. He went back to sleep once it calmed down, but on top of trying to get him back down I had to deal with Hannah (our dog). She hates storms and is terrified of them! She wouldn't leave my side for one second. We are hoping the storms go ar
ound us tonight.
I know this is me being selfish but I absolutely hate when Curtis has to go away! I know this sounds all mushy, but I feel like a piece of me is gone and I don't like it at all! One positive thing is that our love does grow stronger because of all these trips. I hope Noah always realizes how much his mommy and daddy love each other years down the road. I do hope that Curtis has a good trip, but I hope he always knows how much he is being missed here at home while he is away. Well enough of me feeling sorry for myself. It feels good to just talk about things sometimes (or write in this case). Curtis, if you are able to check the blog while you are gone please know that We love and Miss You a lot! Enjoy yourself, and know that we will here waiting for our family to be together once again in a couple of weeks. I hope you enjoy these adorable pics of our baby boy! I'm trying my best to keep things together here at home, and I just pray that I can keep the flowers alive until you get back home:)

Best Buddies!

Tonight Noah was hanging out with his best buddies, Hannah & Daddy:) I (Jen) was feeling under the weather this morning and decided to go to the Doctor. It turns out I have a Ear & Sinus infection. I'm now on medicine, so hopefully I will begin to feel better. I know.. this blog isn't supposed to be about me, so lets get on to the reason everyone checks in daily, Noah:) I don't blame you at all, he is one special and loved little boy!

When Curtis picked Noah up from Daycare I still wasn't feeling very well, so Curtis stepped up and helped me out a lot tonight:) I am very thankful that I have such a loving and caring husband that he helps me even more than he already does when he knows I'm not feeling well. I still was able to take a few pics of Noah petting on Hannah, and Hannah giving him a few doggy kisses. I wish I would've been in the front of Noah, because he was giggling in the pics:) **Don't worry... we never leave Noah un-attended with Hannah even though Hannah is a very sweet and caring dog. Hannah is very protective over Noah, but we still would never do anything to harm our sweet baby boy.** I know there are a lot of people that don't understand why we have such a big dog, but all I can say is the bigger the dog the bigger the heart and love they have for you! Hannah completes our family:) Noah gets closer to her everyday that passes, which warms my heart even more. I just want him to be happy, and Hannah helps us accomplish that:)
This pic. is of Curtis taking Noah for a ride! When daddy isn't here to take him on one, Noah's papaw always makes sure he still gets to go on one. As you can see in the pic., it wouldn't be the complete experience without making the car noise (just look at Curtis and you can tell)! Noah tries making this noise when he pushes any type of little car or toy around, it's just down right adorable:)

Noah and mommy want to thank daddy once again for helping out so much tonight!! It is GREATLY appreciated. Just another reason you make such a good daddy and husband:) We love you!

Feeling Lots Better!

I want to apologize for not posting a blog since last week. We have been a little busy trying to keep up with our little man! Noah is feeling lots better since my last post:) He had a fun filled weekend, and got lots of rest before starting a new week at daycare. As you can see in the pictures I am posting, he had lots of fun playing with his daddy & his ball cap:)

Noah is walking everywhere now! He goes non-stop and it's the most adorable thing you will ever witness. Along with learning to walk comes some tumbles, but thankfully he is doing very well. He did experience his first big boo-boo today at daycare:( He was trying to climb on a chair and before Mrs. Lorrie could get to him it dumped over on him. Don't worry.. it wasn't too bad, but he does have a red mark on his little head. She said he didn't cry very long at all, but I still ache thinking that I (Jen) wasn't there for my baby when he experienced his first boo-boo.

Noah is also drinking milk & water from only a sippy cup now:) He is eating mainly table food or Toddler foods:) He eats when mommy and daddy eat dinner now, and that is very exciting for us! We are very Blessed with a healthy and great baby boy!!
I will try to be better this week at keeping ya'll posted!! Have a great week, and I hope you have enjoyed the recent pics!
