A long week!

Today Curtis left out of town to South Carolina until Sunday on Army duty. On Sunday he will then fly toVirginia Beach for Army duty. Noah won't be able to see his daddy until next Friday, so he is very sad. (mommy is very sad too) It just never feels right when Curtis isn't here with us at night. That sense of security is gone when he's not here. We did just have a new security system installed tonight, so that will help me sleep a little better. There still isn't a better security system than our own little Hannah protecting us while we sleep, or I guess I should say Big Hannah:)

Since Curtis is out of town for the next week, my mom is sweet enough to come and stay with us so we aren't alone, and to help me out. I am very blessed to have parents that care for me so much! I don't know what I would do without my mom or dad, and I hope I don't have to find out for a very long time! I hope that Noah knows that he can always depend on me to be there for him, just like I know I can always depend on my mom to be there for me.

Both my parents are here for the weekend, so Noah will have lots of play time with his papaw since daddy isn't here. Noah is getting very active, so he needs as many people to entertain him as possible.

We hope everyone has a happy Derby weekend!!

Noah's Weekend In LaCenter, Ky

This weekend was a very exciting one for Noah. We took a trip to visit the Moss family in LaCenter, Ky for the first time since Thanksgiving! We hate that it's been so long since we've been there, but hopefully soon we will be making that trip more often. It's a 4 hour trip from Shelbyville for us, but Noah actually did really well. He slept 2 hours there and was awake for the remaining 2. He never cried the entire ride, so we were very proud of him:)
When we arrived at his Nana and Pop's house on Saturday he was very happy to see them! We spent some time with them before the rest of the family started arriving. They had a First Birthday party for Noah since it's such a long trip for everyone to make. He had a great time and loved all his presents and just being able to spend time with everyone:) The picture above is Noah playing with his cousin Layken after he had opened up all his gifts. Layken was a very big help to me (Jen) while she was there, because she watched Noah a lot for me. I was very thankful! Noah also got to taste chocolate birthday cake and vanilla ice cream for the first time. He loved it and couldn't get enough, so I had to take it away so he wouldn't get sick. Curtis and I gave him a bath to get him all clean again, and then he was on his little sugar high going crazy crawling around!! He was adorable:)

On Sunday the family all met at a restaurant called Patti's (that is delicious by the way) to celebrate Rob's (Noah's Pop) retirement. All the grandchildren (except Layken because she coulnd't make it) got thier pictures taken while we were there. Noah did ok at first, but then starting crying towards the end. It was very chilly outside and a man was the photographer, so we think he was a little scared. The pictures still turned out really good! It was so nice to see everyone and they all loved getting to see Noah. We can't wait to see them again:)

We did miss Noah's other cousin, (from my side of the family) Saylor's First Communion party this weekend. We hope she understands and knows that we wish we could've been there, but we have to take every opportunity we can to see Noah's daddy's side of the family. We hope she likes the gift we sent and we hope she knows we were thinking of her on her special day:)

We hope everyone has a great week!

It won't be long now...

As you can see by this adorable video... Noah will be walking soon on his own! He has been walking with his toys for almost 2 weeks now, so I think by his first birthday he will be walking on his own. We are very PROUD and excited for him.

We hope that everyone enjoys watching our sweet baby boy playing with his toy and showing off for the video camera:) We also hope it brings a smile to your face and brightens your day. Have a great week everyone!

The Cleaning Blues

This past weekend I (Jen) spent the day Saturday cleaning out Noah's closet. I didn't think it would take that long, but once I got into it I was in there for at least 2 hours. It fells so good now that his closet is back to the point that I can walk in it again instead of reaching over top of items to just be able to get to his clothes. As happy as I was to get it all cleaned out, it was very sad at the same time for me. I had to pack up lots and lots of his baby clothes that no longer fit him. I had plenty of moments that I just sat down to stop and think about when he used to wear a size 3 month outfit, or to look at the clothes he was wearing just a couple of months ago! I just feel like the past almost 11 months has gone by so quickly that I haven't really had the time to stop and think about how he is going to be turning a year old very soon!! It's a very bitter sweet moment. I'm so happy that he is growing the way he should, but I also wish he was that little baby that was just being born last May:)

Noah's closet is now clean, his baby clothes that no longer fit him are boxed away, and all his baby swings and mobile are taken down. I haven't given anything away, because Curtis and I are wanting to try and have 1 more baby. This weekend was a definite sign to me that I want another one! No, it's not going to be any time soon before everyone starts thinking things!! (ha) We are thinking about when Noah turns 2 trying to have another one, but we will leave that in God's hands:) For the present time we are just going to continue focusing on our precious Noah and trying to be the best parents we can for him!

Busy Weekend!

This weekend has been a very busy weekend for the Moss family. It all started out yesterday (Saturday) when I (Jen) took Noah to get his 9 month pictures made. I was nervous like always since he is teething and I didn't know what type of mood he would be in for the photographer. I will never know why I worry about my baby when it comes to getting his picture made. I know I'm his mommy, but the kid couldn't take a bad picture! All of the picture I post on the blog tonight are just a few of the pictures that I have ordered of him. He did a great job! I know that he is almost 11 months and I'm just getting his 9 month pictures taken, but that's how life goes sometimes. I'm just thankful that I've been able to get his pictures taken as often as I have. I hope everyone enjoys his pictures!

Once Noah got his pictures made we went to visit his Great Mamaw and Great Aunt Pam. After we visited with them we went shopping for the rest of the day. We were shopping for around 4 hours, and he did great the entire time. He never cried once and was very content in his stroller looking at all the different people. I thank God everyday for blessing me with such a good baby! During our big shopping spree with Noah, I was able to get him a new outfit to wear in his pictures that he will be in with all the Moss cousins on the last weekend of April during our visit. That is going to be our next BIG weekend we have with Noah, and we are looking forward to it a lot. That weekend we are going to celebrate Noah's First Birthday with the Moss family, and Noah's Pop's Retirement party! We haven't been able to visit everyone in LaCenter, Ky (Curtis' home town) since Thanksgiving, so it will be a nice visit.

We hope everyone has a wonderful week!

3rd Times a charm

I have made the 3rd appointment in a month to try to get Noah's 9 month pictures made! He has gotten sick right before his appointment every time, so we are keeping our fingers crossed this time that he stays well:) I am having his picture made in his Easter outfit and maybe a casual outfit of some type, but I haven't made up my mind for sure yet. It really all depends on how well the ones in his Easter outfit goes. I'm hoping that he is in a good mood so that we can get some more pictures of him smiling.

Noah has been doing really well this week even though he is STILL trying to cut his two top front teeth:( I checked them again tonight and his gums are still very swollen, but they still haven't popped through yet. As you can tell in the picture above, he likes to chew on everything due to him teething. He was probably wishing that was a real ice cream cone:) He has been waking up once during the night again this week whenever his gums start bothering him. Mommy and Daddy got spoiled to those couple of weeks when he was in a routine of sleeping throughout the night, and then he started teething so we understand why he is waking up. I just wish I could take all his pain away! Thankfully daddy has been getting up with him in the night and mommy gets him in the early morning when he wakes up. We make a good team:)

We hope you all enjoy your Friday, and I will keep you posted on how the picture experience goes now that he is crawling all over the place:)

Noah's First Easter!

Happy Easter!! This was Noah's first Easter, so it was a very special one for our family this year. We waited until after Church to show Noah what the Easter Bunny brought him this year, and he liked his little easter basket and bunny:) He also got a small toy from mommy and daddy, his First Bible and a basket of little toys from his mamaw and papaw, a card from his Nana, Pop, and cousins Austin and Autumn, a small Tigger bunny from his Great aunt Regina, and a basket from his Great Mamaw.

He loved everything and he would like us to thank everyone for him this year! He enjoyed going to his Great mamaw's house to see all our family that he doesn't get to see very often. When we first arrived he was crying a lot due to being overwhelmed, just waking up from a nap, being hungry, and his gums were hurting him from teething. Once he woke up fully, ate, and mommy put some Orajel on his gums he was much better. About an hour after we had arrived he was down in the floor crawling all over the place smiling like always:) We can't wait to see him next year when he will be old enough to go on his First Easter Egg hunt. We hope everyone had a very Happy Easter like our family did!

Another reason this Easter was very special for us, was that we found out tonight that my cousin Bobby and his wife Jenni are expecting their first baby! We are very excited for them, and wish them a very happy and healthy pregnancy:) We can't wait to welcome another little baby into our crazy family!
